CONVERSION GUIDE
How to convert PDF to Word
PDF is designed for consistent display, while Word is designed for editing. Conversion therefore requires reconstruction rather than a simple file extension change.
Text-based PDFs
If text can be selected in the PDF, extraction can recover the words and paragraphs. Preserving columns, tables and exact spacing is a harder task.
Scanned PDFs
Scanned pages contain images rather than characters. OCR is required to recognize the text before an editable document can be created.
Check the result
Always review headings, tables, page breaks, footnotes and special characters after conversion.
